A Common Sense Approach

By Jim Reginatto, Torrington

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about myself. My name is Jim Reginatto and I am running for reelection to the City Council with the Republican team. I am a lifelong resident of Torrington, residing on Cookes Ridge with my wife Brenda and son Tyler.

As the owner/ operator of Tino's Shoe Service, our family business that was established in 1956 by my father, I try to bring a common sense approach to city government. I have been very active in the community for many years, serving on many boards and committees including John Kelley Housing, Torrington Parking Authority, Emergency Response Planning Committee, the Personnel Committee, Street Light Committee, and as chairman of Cub Scout Pack 4.

I have been a leading critic of frivolous spending and have emphasized the need to keep the lines of communication open between the city government and the public. I believe we must have a more accountable government and long-range planning to find new solutions to age-old problems. These solutions can only be found through the willingness to listen to the people who elected us to serve Torrington.

Thank you for all your support during this last term. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and I am looking forward to serving you again in the future. Please support the entire Republican team by voting on November 6.
