Music and Dance
     University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Ave. in West Hartford presents David Buskin, George Wurzbach and Rob Carlson, the well known songwriters of MODERN MAN on Friday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. Buskin's tunes are enjoyed by a huge audience, as he has filled the airwaves with numerous jingles. Brooklyn native Wurzbach grew up listening to all styles of music, and has performed as a sideman for Johnny Cash, Mel Torme and Kathy Mattea. Carlson is a writer, producer and performer and has a wide reputation as a composer of song parodies for the American Comedy Network. Tickets are $15; proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. Drama and Comedy
     Warner Theatre, 68 Main St. in Torrington presents the Broadway musical "A CHORUS LINE" on Friday and Saturday, November 16-17 at 8 p.m. Directed by Donna Bonasera of Connecticut Dance Theatre, the story is about the audition process and the lives of dancers and singers trying to make it to Broadway.      Harwinton Public Library, 80 Bentley Drive in Harwinton presents an exhibit of the paintings of Cornwall artist HARVEY OFFENHARTZ. Mr. Offenhartz is an abstract artist whose works are painted in oil enamel on paper with occasional use of oil stick and montage.      Active Singles sponsors a HIKE at Giuffrida Park in Meriden on Sunday, November 18 at 9:30 a.m. Please arrive 30 minutes early. Bring hiking boots and water; there will be four different skill levels. For singles only (ages 30s-50s), no children or dogs; new members are welcome. Optional brunch to follow 2-hour hike. Sports
     Goshen Running Club sponsors the 24th annual GOSHEN TURKEY TROT on Thursday, November 22 at 10 a.m. at the Goshen Fairgrounds, Route 63 in Goshen. The race covers a scenic hilly course over mostly dirt roads, which returns to the fairgrounds after completing 6.2 miles. The event will be held rain, snow or sunshine. Entries are limited to 300, and pre-registration is strongly encouraged. The pre-race fee is $10 and includes a t-shirt for the first 200 entries; race day registration is $15.      Harwinton Recreation offers FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE for students in grade 6 on Friday, November 16 from 7-9 p.m. at Harwinton Senior Center. Join your friends and enjoy music, games, pizza and soda. Pre-registration is not required, but participants must be Harwinton residents or attend school in Harwinton. All students must be signed in and signed out by an adult.
