Holiday House Tour in Litchfield
     Litchfield Performing Arts presents is 12th annual Holiday House Tour on Friday and Saturday, December 7-8. This year's tour will feature five stunning homes, decorated for the holidays, in the Washington area. The featured homes range from historic, 200-year-old farmhouses to newly built, exquisitely detailed homes. Washington, incorporated in 1779, is a picture perfect New England village. The town is home to many designers, writers, actors and television personalities. While there, the tour visitor may stop in Washington Depot and nearby New Preston village to shop in some of Connecticut's finest antique shops.

Salvation Army Open House a Success
     The Salvation Army Service Unit serving Winsted, Norfolk and Colebrook held its annual open house on December 1. The Manchester Citadel Brass Ensemble provided music on Main Street in front of the old Winchester Hotel. Inside on display were over 120 dolls dressed by volunteers, along with gingerbread houses decorated by area elementary grade students.

Donald Smith Celebrates 20 Years with Farmington Valley Chorale
     "How did that happen?" exclaimed Donald Smith. "Twenty years as director of the Farmington Valley Chorale!" The Chorale recently celebrated the occasion with festivities at a rehearsal that included a large cake and lots of homemade goodies. Don has been music director and conductor of the Chorale since 1981, and over the years the group has sung sacred, classical, contemporary, spiritual and patriotic music. Membership in the Chorale has varied through the years from 30 to 100, with members coming from as far as Massachusetts and Middletown. Many members live in the Farmington Valley, and all are welcome—from age eighteen to eighty.
