Friends
Friends of old, friends of new,
Friends from work, friends from school,
Friends of old, friends of new, We’re all here, no "one" defined. Happy hearts, desolate times, Falling buildings, burning flesh, New York’s finest, corporate's best, Fear not friend, our thoughts combine On all those lives just left behind. Skies are lit in distant lands, Troops abound on foreign sand. What once was old, is now renewed. Unity wins, patriotism rules. Take some time this very night, Glance to your left, and to your right, Extend a hand, open your heart, Pose a question you normally might not: "Your favorite color … green or blue?" "How about movie?" " I love it too!" Simple pleasures define who we are, Not jobs, houses or fancy cars. Take a chance, let it be known Who you are inside your soul, For when we’re called, no one can tell. Can it truly be said we knew you well? |
