Hugh Blumenfeld at Roaring Brook

Hugh Blumenfeld at Roaring Brook

The 1999-2000 Connecticut State Troubadour, Hugh Blumenfeld, will appear in concert on Saturday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Roaring Brook Nature Center, 70 Gracey Rd. in Canton.

The Boston Globe says that the songs of Hugh Blumenfeld are "words and music full of poetry and passion." He will draw from a rich repertoire found on his CDs Barehanded, Mozart’s Money, Rocket Science and The Strong in Spirit, offering vibrant vocals and strong guitar work that optimize on-target political satire, moving love songs, and humorous and compassionate studies of the human condition.

The opening act for the show will be performed by Michigan-born songwriter/ guitarist Rachael Davis. Her voice is a rare instrument that she has developed by performing onstage for 19 of her 21 years. With perfect pitch and incredibly sophisticated note selection, she makes her Roaring Brook debut with songs from her first CD, Minor League Deities. Playing guitar and banjo, she will be accompanied by fine guitarist Brett Hartenbach.

Admission is $12; for reservations or more info, call 860-693-0263.
