Eddy Lawrence at 59 Barber Street

On Friday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m., 59 Barber Street in Torrington presents a performance by songwriter Eddy Lawrence. Opening for Lawrence will be 59 Barber Street's house band, the Love at Work Band.

According to Cliff Furnald, Eddy Lawrence's lyrics are so convincing that the listener is likely to be "beguiled into [his] fictional world, a world so full of truth that it's hard to remember it's all a story written in songs by one of the country's great unknowns." Ed McKeon of the New Britain Herald has said, "I'm convinced that Eddy Lawrence is writing a novel, one song at a time. No one writing songs today crams as much revealing detail, such brilliant local color, and as many authentic overheard conversations into a set of verse and chorus."

Eddy has recorded seven solo albums in addition to appearing on many compilations, including nine Fast Folk albums, which have recently been acquired by the Smithsonian Institution. Visit Eddy's website at <www.snowplowrecords.com>.

Stan Bronski and Kath Bloom own the unique performance space that is 59 Barber Street. They are proud to present this exciting concert in a superb acoustic setting.

A donation of $7 is requested. 59 Barber Street is located on Barber Street behind the Vogel-Wetmore Elementary School, two blocks west of Main Street in Torrington. Free parking is available on Barber Street and in the Vogel-Wetmore parking lot next to the YMCA on Prospect St. For more info call 860-489-0137.
