: Simon’s Rock College hosts a Discovery Day open house at 9:30 a.m.; prospective students and their families are invited to tour the campus and attend a class. Free; for reservations call 413-528-7355.

NORFOLK

: Norfolk Lions Club sponsors a Spaghetti Dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Botelle Elementary School on Route 44. Chairman John Funchion welcomes townspeople to this event as a signal of support for the vigilant ambulance corps. Tickets are $6 adults, $3 children, and may be purchased from any member of the Lions Club or at the door.

NORTHFIELD

: Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, 12 Main St. holds a breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. The regular menu includes all the pancakes you can eat, sausage, coffee and juice for $4; French toast, eggs and home fries are also available. TORRINGTON

: The Catholic Inter-Parish Adult Education Initiative hosts a presentation by Dr. Joan Kelly on the historical basis for Lent from 2-4 p.m. in the cafeteria at St. Francis School on Prospect St. Dr. Kelly is the Director of Religious Education for the Diocese of Bridgeport, and a Professor of Religious Studies at Sacred Heart University. She will share how the Season of Lent originated, its meaning, and its connection to the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation). Free; people of all faith traditions are welcome. Refreshments will be served after the program.
