I have read William Barrante's letters in the past, and all were carefully thought out and well done. But in his January 25 letter [The Constitution Is Still Alive] he mistakenly tries to give the John Birch Society a bad name, either from what he has heard secondhand in error, or from just plain ignorance of the Society. Judy Pavlak is all scared that a simple appeal of the Office of Health Care Access ruling, which removed the Winsted Health Center Foundation from the local Certificate of Need, will force our Health Center to close [Look Before You Leap, February 8]. If this happens, voters will respond—and Governor Rowland and OHCA Commissioner Gorman will lose, not us. More ... I took a brief hiatus and hung my word processor on the hook for a few months regarding articles to The Voice for a few reasons. One of them was because I had received anonymous letters from people I consider cowards. They want their opinions known, but they are too cowardly to put their name to what they believe. More ... |
