The Annual Corporator Meeting of the Winsted Health Center Foundation, which was originally scheduled for December 20, 2001 was postponed until February 24, 2002. The reasons given for the postponement were an inadvertent omission of the lists of candidates with the meeting notice, and the weather. It was a cold night. I was chilly waiting outside the Health Center in my sweater. I took it upon myself to tell anyone who hadn't received the word about the postponement. I told a couple of folks and then decided that the trustees, who were themselves meeting upstairs, should have posted someone outside for this chore. I went in and asked the receptionist if she had been told of the postponement. She said, "No." I said I was going home and asked her to tell any latecomers to go home. I did think it was thoughtless of those upstairs. Thoughtless, but not surprising. More ... When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one corporate group to insure that the controlling corporate group abides by the purposes of the corporation, and to assume among the corporators their proper role as participants in the governance of the corporation, a decent respect for the opinions of the community require that they should declare the causes which impel them to bringing a lawsuit.
