Ned Coll Invited to a Green Party

By L.A. Steel

Ned Coll, a Democrat and candidate for governor, was warmly received at a monthly gathering of Green Party members in Salisbury on Sunday, March 10. It was a casual and spirited potluck dinner enjoyed by a growing guest list of concerned citizens and activists. Ned spoke informally of his vision for Connecticut and reminisced about his long career as an activist. Ned gained the admiration and encouragement of all attending and has been openly invited again. Ned’s vision for clean government and a clean environment in many ways mirrors the concerns of the Green Party.

Though Ned is loyal to his own party and is running as a Democrat, he understood the great concerns of those present. He stated that if elected he would model his administration on Ella Grasso’s administration. He was a special advisor to Governor Grasso and believes that she was truly a great and spiritual woman who loved the people of Connecticut. He also spoke of how he received national attention during his candidacy in the 1972 presidential primary, and about his long career with the Revitalization Corps. Ned’s honesty and integrity were refreshing to all of us attending the gathering.

Ned Coll will be in Waterbury on St. Patrick’s Day as part of his 169-town walk for Governor. Look for him carrying his sign and honk your vote and support. He will also be appearing on the L.A. Steel Show in a two-part program. Part one will air on Charter Community Vision Channel 13 in the Winsted area on Thursday, March 14 at 10 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m. The show will air on Skye 13 in Waterbury on Monday, March 18 at 9:30 p.m., with part two on Monday, March 25 at 9:30 p.m.
