The Downfall — A Fable
     Sun streamed through the windows of the solarium tower at the very top of the castle of Queen Clarabell the First. The queen was there wearing her best black, scaly bikini trying to catch all the sun's warm rays. We all know how snakes, being cold-blooded, enjoy catching the rays to warm up their bodies. Somehow no matter how hot the sun beat upon her scales, it never seemed to be enough to warm the queen's cold-blooded heart. She kept her Privy Council terrorized by slapping the rattle on her tail and hissing loudly at anyone who disagreed with her ideas.

Time to Reject Lambert Kay Acquisition — Again
     Citizens, voters and taxpayers of the Town of Winchester should attend the special town meeting on Monday, March 18 at 8 p.m. in the Band Room at the Pearson School—and vote NO on the question of whether the town should acquire the Lambert Kay factory building.

Town of Winchester Grand List for 2001
     The Town of Winchester’s real estate net increase for 2001 was 0.29%. This increase was due to additions and renovations to Lexington Healthcare Group, Inc. on East Lake St. Also, Camp Wahnee constructed several cottages; Avalon Cable of New England LLC on Winchester Rd. constructed a concrete shelter for building equipment; and a commercial mini-warehouse on Old North Rd. was constructed. New construction in progress includes the CVS store on Main St. and the Sports Domain at 147 Torrington Rd.
