Artwell's "Young at Art" Education Program
     Artwell is pleased to announce the spring session of its well-received visiting artist program. Young at Art is a unique educational program in which visual and literary artists from Artwell visit art and English classes to expose students to different professions in the arts and to creative ways of thinking and making art. Participating schools this spring include Torrington High School, Torrington Middle School, The Gilbert School, Litchfield High School, Wamogo Regional High School, and Lewis S. Mills Regional High School.

Amateur Boxing Show at Torrington High
     The coaches and members of Northwest Amateur Boxing are pleased to announce their second fundraising amateur boxing show, "Connecticut Showcase II," on Saturday, April 27 in the Torrington High School gym starting at 7 p.m. The purpose of this event is to help raise operating funds for the new training facility which opened in February.

Cornwall Child Center Benefit Auction
     A vacation at an oceanfront home in Ireland, at a home in Provence, France, or at a townhouse in central London, along with horseback riding lessons, art work, opera and show tickets, restaurant meals, hand-crafted items and an extensive array of goods and services are among the more than 200 items that will go on the block at the eleventh annual Cornwall Child Center Benefit Auction on Sunday, April 28 at Mohawk Mountain Ski Resort, off Route 4 in Cornwall. The silent auction and previews begin at 1:30 p.m., with the live auction getting underway at 3 p.m. Admission is $5, which includes complimentary refreshments, hors d'oeuvres and desserts.
