MADD Litchfield County Seeks Board Members
     As it has been noted in the local papers, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Litchfield County has lost its executive director, Andrew Woods, due to budget constraints. While we are deeply saddened by this, we would like to inform the public that our office is still open and we are still working hard at our mission to stop drunk driving, to support the victims of this violent crime, and to prevent underage drinking.

Help Keep Litchfield County MADD Office Open
     For the past few months I have been volunteering with the Litchfield County chapter of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). In this time I have had the privilege of participating in many fundraisers and have been able to help spread the word about the many dangers of drinking and driving.

There's Always the Priesthood
     I was convinced that nothing would ever quite rival the sheer disgrace and filth of the Clinton era; that no one would ever again compromise the integrity of an office and institution so revered by the public on such a colossal scale. We empower and trust politicians to govern our physical well-being. On the other hand, priests and clergymen we entrust with much deeper and heartfelt matters.

Woman Seeks Good Samaritan
     On July 3, 1999 at Price Rite supermarket in Torrington, I slipped on some grapes and fell near the cash registers at the front of the store. A female customer came to my aid and stayed with me until medical help arrived. I ask that person to please call me at 860-489-8946.

The New Kristallnacht
     On November 10,1939 Nazi storm troopers smashed windows of Jewish storefronts, burned synagogues and created mayhem. A total of 110 synagogues were destroyed, 7,500 Jewish businesses were smashed, 26,000 Jews were arrested and physically beaten, and 91 died. Later Goering and his henchmen joked about it and called it Kristallnacht. I remember my mother’s tears.
