Artwell Art and Treasures Auction Artwell, Litchfield County’s community art center, is inviting all bargain hunters and art lovers to join them at the gallery on Saturday, May 11 for an Auction of Artwork and Creative Services. Regional artists and businesses have generously donated artworks and gift certificates. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Artwell and help keep the arts alive in the Northwest corner. There will be a wide range of rare finds for every budget, including original paintings, prints, photos and drawings by members and friends of Artwell, as well as creative services such as photography, classical guitar music, and professional logo design. Businesses have contributed items and gift certificates for free food, travel, beauty and much, much more! The event starts with a preview at 6 p.m. followed by a live auction starting at 8 p.m. Delicious food, wine and drink will be provided. There will be wonderful entertainment featuring the mirthful "Sister Windy," who will be our auctioneer. As always, the mood will be warm and friendly, yet charged with excitement. Come browse, eat, drink, listen, enjoy, and perhaps bid on that special find that calls out to you. Artwell, located at 19 Water St. in Torrington, is a nonprofit community arts center serving northwest Connecticut and beyond. Throughout the year they sponsor art exhibitions, educational workshops and speakers, and provide a venue for emerging and established performers through open mike events, the Common Thread poetry series, the New Voices music series, as well as special appearances by guest artists.
