What Can Be Done About CL&P? What Can Be Done About CL&P? By Pat Trotman, East Morris I have a question: Can anyone explain to me why Connecticut Light and Power Co. is allowed to estimate power use instead of reading our meters? And, when they made the estimates for the winter of 2002, why have they been allowed to base them on the amount of electricity that was used in December of 2000? Also, why are they allowed to estimate not only once, but two months in a row? I can’t understand why this is legal. We have only one source of power, CL&P. What can be done? This winter was extremely mild and power usage was much lower than normal, but I’m told that the estimates don’t have anything to do with the weather. If not, what are we paying for? |
