No mortal being, no special interest groups (pro-choice, same-sex marriage, etc.), and no amount of anti-Catholic media frenzy will bring down my church nor cause me to question my faith. More ... I would like to publicly express my appreciation to anchorman Dan Rather for an acknowledgment that he made on his evening news program on April 29. While many other newscasters are having a field day with the events that are unfolding in the Roman Catholic Church, he made a point of saying that, even with all that has been disclosed lately, less than one-half of one percent of all priests are involved in these scandals. Also, he went on to say that these horrific events that are only now coming to light have actually occurred over a period of 20-30 years, with a few immoral men affecting so many. Even one such event is one too many, but unfortunately this abhorrent crime of pedophilia indirectly affects all churches, synagogues and public institutions. More ... Tax day has come and gone, so I'll dust off my keyboard again. There are a number of items to comment on. More ... Airline pilots, flight attendants, first class passengers and frequent flyers aren't just annoyed—they are angry. They don't like it one bit that are being treated like plain old ordinary passengers. More ... Everybody has a different personality. It's fun to observe people and discover (or at least try to) what they're all about. Sometimes just the way a person walks or presents themselves can tell a lot about them. Someone once said "clothing makes the person," or does it? Or maybe it's that dyed hair color that speaks a tune. More ... |
