, 550 Main St. South (Route 63) in Bethlehem presents a SOUTHWESTERN ART SHOW through June 22, with many works remaining on display through July. This exhibition features the award winning wildlife sculptures of Ken Newman, as well as Native American jewelry, pottery and fine art paintings. Newman uses a variety of woods, from wind-blown cedars to vertical-grain redwoods and water-worn driftwood to create his one-of-a-kind animal representations. , 108 Main St. in Canaan hosts a book talk by PRISCILLA BUCKLEY, author of "A String of Pearls" on Friday, June 14 at 7 p.m. Her memoir describes her experiences at her first job as copy girl for the UP when she was fresh out of Smith College. On Mondays and Thursdays class meets at the Sports Domain from 9-10:30 a.m.; on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, class meets at two area golf courses for 9 holes with a 9 a.m. tee-off. The 4th annual Riverton Festival

will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The town "feels" like a festival as the entire village of Riverton (on Route 20) plays host to an antique and classic car show, artisans, crafters, antique dealers and an antique appraisal clinic. There will be historic and educational demonstrations, lectures, and community-minded organizations. There will also be a delightful variety of entertainment including children's activities, storytelling, a magic show, and a 2-hour performance by Irish folklore singer Julee Glaub. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the arts and beautification to maintain the historical appeal of Riverton. Admission to the festival is free; car show admission is $2; antique appraisals cost $5 for the first item, $3 for each additional item.

Bronc Callahan Community Fund

sponsors the 8th annual BRONC CALLAHAN HOE-DOWN on Saturday, June 15 at 5 p.m. at the Harwinton Fairgrounds in Harwinton. A huge 50-foot long inflatable kiddiepillar by D&A Amusement will greet everyone on the midway. There will be other suitable inflatables for everyone's enjoyment, an archery demonstration by Harwinton Rod and Gun Club, various vendors, crafts and much more. Harwinton's Hometown Hero's Awards will be awarded to George Beck, Brad Caganello, Kevin Ferrarotti and Patricia Green. The Bronc Callahan Community Fund will award two $1,000 scholarships to Brittany Mathes and Victoria Willey. The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks display, which will start promptly at 9:30 p.m.
