His editorial ramblings, while probably inflammatory to some, also describe (in a politically incorrect manner) what we are doing to our society and economy. Making decisions that affect the standards of living of our society based upon scientific understanding is one thing, but making decisions based upon emotion and pretending they are based upon science is quite another.
