Photo/Robin Gourd More ... I was pleased to join with so many of you at the polls on Saturday, June 1 to register our view of the proposed Winchester budget for next year. Actually, I was thrilled that so many of you took the time out of your busy schedules to get to the polls or file an absentee ballot. Your actions validate the hard work done over many years by many fellow citizens to get our town charter changed to allow a referendum to follow the annual town budget meeting. More ... I have always been interested in politics and government. When a new charter for our town was being discussed, a friend on the board of selectmen appointed me to the newly formed Charter Revision Commission. We worked for two years and finally came up with as good a document as we thought we were able to draw up. More ... This is the third in a series of articles to be written by Friends of Main Street participants who serve on the Organization Committee.
