Housatonic Youth Service Golf Tournament a Success
Housatonic Youth Service Golf Tournament a Success By Cynthia Bianchi On behalf of the board members and staff of the Housatonic Youth Service Bureau, I want to thank everyone who helped make the annual golf tournament on June 26 at Silo Ridge a successful event, yet again. Thank you to the 100-plus business and community members who sponsored holes, carts, the banquet table, gifts and boosters! This year, over $5,000 in prizes and raffle gifts were awarded, thanks to the generosity of our donors and our corporate sponsor, WKZE. Our tournament winners were Matt Robbins and Bill Below for Low Gross, each winning a full-package 3-day, 2-night golf getaway for two in the Pocono Mountains. Low Gross runners-up were Joe Healy and Steve Pitcher, each winning a pair of golf shoes from the pro shop at Silo Ridge. Low Net winners were Jim Kennedy and Gary Smith, each awarded tickets for two to attend this fall's Celebrity Players' Golf Tour at Mohegan Sun; net runners-up, Dave Burger and Bill Dean, were given free passes to next year's tournament. Our thanks to all the golfers—many who participate every year—who support the event. Special thanks to WKZE for their sponsorship and for bringing in some terrific prizes, and especially to Marshall Miles, who helps promote the event, increasing golfer participation. The tournament's success will benefit the programs and services we provide for youth and families throughout the six towns of Region One. Thanks to all who contributed their support. Cynthia Bianchi is Director of the Housatonic Youth Service Bureau. |
