BANTAM

: A Memorial Service for those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church on Route 202 (adjacent to the All Wars Memorial). All are welcome.

SIMSBURY

: La Leche League of Farmington Valley meets at 7:15 p.m. at the First Church of Christ, 689 Hopmeadow St. (Route 10). Support, friends and lots of helpful information are all part of La Leche League meetings. They are the perfect place to get straight answers from experienced breastfeeding mothers and to sort facts from misinformation. This month’s topic is "Planning for Baby." LITCHFIELD

: Lourdes-in-Litchfield on Route 118 (east of the town green) celebrates Family Day with a Blessing of the Families at 11:30 a.m. Mass, which will be celebrated outdoors at the Grotto. KENT

: Kent Library Association holds its Annual Meeting at 4 p.m. at Kent Town Hall. Agenda includes the reading of reports of the officers, library director and the chairs of the standing committees; the acceptance of these reports; the election of officers for the ensuing year; the adoption of the budget for the coming fiscal year; and the transaction of other business as is proper to come before the Association. TORRINGTON

: The City of Torrington holds a public workshop on the downtown redevelopment project from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Yankee Pedlar on Main St. This is one of a series of sessions that will play an important role in shaping the redevelopment project, and will be a crucial component of the City’s conceptual master plan for downtown.

: Special Olympics Connecticut holds its 12th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Pasta Supper from 5-8 p.m. at the Cornucopia Banqueting Hall, 371 Pinewoods Rd. Menu includes ziti with meatballs, salad, rolls and butter, dessert, coffee and soda. Peter James the Magician will be a special guest, and music will be provided by Berkshire Sun DJs. : The nonprofit TEAM Mobile Feline Unit visits town to provide spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations against rabies, distemper and respiratory infection, nail trim, and ear mite treatment (if necessary); cost is $49.
