RIVERTON

: Riverton Grange meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Grange Hall on Route 20. A program on Spain will be followed by refreshments served by Arba Roberts and Phyllis Biece. Members are reminded that this is the meeting to which Angel Contest entries must be brought.

 

Saturday, July 20

CANAAN

: Canaan United Methodist Church holds a Smorgasbord from 5-7 p.m. Enjoy the Railroad Days activities and then join us for homemade food prepared by the ladies of the church. Tickets are $8 adults, $3.50 children (ages 5-12), under 5 free; for reservations call 860-824-7264, or 860-824-7081.

CORNWALL

HARWINTON

: The Lions Club of Harwinton holds a Pasta Dinner from 5-7 p.m. at the Harwinton Senior Center, 209 Weingart Rd. Menu includes pasta, salad, bread, coffee, tea, soda and dessert. Cost is $6 adults, $3 children (under 12); tickets may be purchased from any Lions Club member or at the door.

TORRINGTON

: Concordia Lodge #20 Sons of Italy, 34 Center St. holds early bingo at 1 p.m. and regular bingo at 2 p.m., with progressive jackpot and refreshments. Doors open at 11 a.m.

WINSTED

: Winsted United Methodist Church, 630 Main St. holds a Roast Beef Dinner from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Menu includes roast beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, homemade pie and beverages. Cost is $8.50 adults, $8 seniors, $5 children (under 12); take-outs available. For reservations call 379-6386, or 379-4454. The Church Mouse will be open during dinner for crafts and collectibles.

: The City of Torrington holds a public workshop on the downtown redevelopment project from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Yankee Pedlar on Main St. This is one of a series of sessions that will play an important role in shaping the redevelopment project, and will be a crucial component of the City’s conceptual master plan for downtown.

THOMASTON

: The nonprofit TEAM Mobile Feline Unit visits town to provide spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations against rabies, distemper and respiratory infection, nail trim, and ear mite treatment (if necessary); cost is $49.
