Thomaston Fire Department Carnival

The Thomaston Volunteer Fire Department's annual carnival will be held on Wednesday through Saturday, August 7-10 at Sanford Ave. Field in Thomaston. The carnival will begin each evening at 7 p.m.

Entertainment and activities are scheduled for the entire event. On Wednesday, music will be provided by Steel Rodeo. The Chapparells country and western band will perform on Thursday and Friday nights. A fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. on Thursday.

There will be numerous rides and games for all. The delicious food booth will offer hot dogs, hamburgers, steak sandwiches, sausage patties, fried dough, chicken nuggets and French fries for your enjoyment. Soda, beer and wine coolers will also be available.

On Saturday, there will be a ride matinee from 12:30-4 p.m. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday with over 40 fire companies participating.

Raffle tickets are now on sale for $1 from any member. Nine prizes will be awarded as follows: a $700 gift certificate redeemable at the Country Grocer; a $500 gift certificate redeemable at Mobil; a DVD player; a ladies dress watch from Barberet Jewelers; 200 gallons of oil redeemable at Thomaston Oil; a men’s dress watch from Barberet Jewelers; two tickets for a day trip to Foxwoods redeemable at Land Jet Bus Lines; a $100 gift certificate Redeemable at Sanzeri's Bait and Tackle; and a $95 gift certificate for one furnace cleaning service redeemable at Thomaston Oil.

Advance ride tickets at a reduced price and raffle tickets will be sold at the firehouse from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 6-8 p.m. weekday evenings from July 27 through August 6.
