What Is the Real Issue? What Is the Real Issue? By Barbara Ann Cisowski, Torrington To Bob Davidson [On Aging and Profiling, July 19], I say that if you do believe in God, then you really must know that God knows what God does. Political parties have always had a choice in this country. The people choose, and the people can vote who is in or out regardless of age. As for CEOs, they have no reason to see being an "old dog" as a problem, with the retirement packages they get. In short, there are plenty of people of all ages—young, middle-aged, and elderly—who do their jobs well. Pedophiles and homosexuals are two different things. Also, lately there seem to be many people who think that every Catholic priest is a child molester. Well, wake up, people! There are plenty of child molesters, murderers, rapists and you-name-it out there from all walks of life. Finally, when you single out the Pope and Cardinal Law to suggest that they are too old to serve their roles effectively, it causes me to think that your problem is more with their Catholicism, Mr. Davidson, than with their age. |
