Why Waste Time Thinking?

Why Waste Time Thinking?

What would you think about people who built a house and then, three years later, tear about a quarter of it apart to put in extra plumbing? Not too bright. No planning. Definitely don’t care about money and must have a lot of it, as they blow it.

Three years ago, in a project taking two or three months, Route 183 from Winsted into Colebrook was elaborately resurfaced, with the old pavement ground up to a fair depth, new culverts and drainage—a really nice job. Early this summer, the road was treated and sealed. Now, for the past week or so, the road is being torn up to put in new fire hydrants and miscellaneous plumbing. So much for that nice new road.

Hey, it’s only us taxpayers paying for it. Why plan ahead? If more money is needed, raise taxes, create new taxes or cut necessary services, but don’t ever think about efficient management. It probably wouldn’t be cost-effective to have all that highly paid management waste their time thinking.
