New England Jewish Music and Art Festival

New England Jewish Music and Art Festival

The fifth annual New England Jewish Music and Art Festival will take place on Sunday and Monday, September 1-2 from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Litchfield County Jewish Community Center on Route 202 in Litchfield. An eclectic mix of people from various backgrounds will gather to enjoy and celebrate the rich cultural experience of Jewish life. This event draws people from all over New England and New York for a day of various exhibitions of Jewish music, art, Judaica and crafts. You don't have to be Jewish to join us at this festival of unity.

The top Jewish musicians from around the world will be performing in the midst of the peaceful Litchfield hills. The adults’ stage will feature Israeli, klezmer and classical Jewish music along with a harpist and a boys choir. The separate children's stage will have entertainment geared towards children and encourage audience participation.

Glatt kosher food will be available throughout the festival. A large selection of Jewish art and Judaica, as well as all the new year needs, will be for sale.

Lessons in Jewish craft making for children and adults will be ongoing throughout the festival. Take home a future heirloom made by you or your child. Learn to make your own Chanukah menorah, havdallah candle, Shofar, yarmulka, bake a Challah, or design Jewish sand art.

You and your family are guaranteed a truly rich and rewarding experience that will be treasured and remembered. Rain or shine, bring your own blankets or lawn chairs. Children under the age of 10 will be admitted free. One-day passes are $15 in advance (by August 27) or $20 at the door; two-day passes are $25 in advance or $35 at the door. Tickets are available at Litchfield County JCC, any Strawberries Music and Video Store, Coconuts Music Stores, and LaSalle Music; or call 800-477-6849.
