Time for Nancy Johnson to Be Retired
At the end of last week I received another piece of campaign literature from U.S. Representative Nancy Johnson, in the form of a Congressional newsletter, which included the notation that "This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense." Mrs. Johnson is in the middle of a tough campaign to stay in Congress against another incumbent, U.S. Representative Jim Maloney. So what does Mrs. Johnson do? She sends out campaign literature, at least to her constituents in the old Sixth District, paid for by taxpayers in Connecticut, Mississippi and Oregon. Would Jim Maloney be any better? Maybe not. But Jim Maloney is not expected to stand for keeping the cost of government down. A casual look through Mrs. Johnson’s flier shows that she seems to believe the federal government is the answer for everything. I think it’s time for her to be retired. My vote will go to Joe Zdonczyk, the Concerned Citizens Party candidate, on November 5. |
