Don’t Trust Region 10 Phone Survey

The Region 10 Board of Education is at it again! The board recently approved spending approximately $16,000 to conduct an upcoming telephone survey. They will be asking questions of the residents of both Burlington and Harwinton regarding a proposed school that both towns have soundly rejected twice within the past 15 months.

I personally do not answer survey questions for anything to anyone over the telephone, and I am certainly not alone on this. How can anyone be sure to whom they are speaking? Of course the residents know that the survey will be taking place, but we still have no way of knowing who in fact is on the phone asking us these questions.

I urge the residents of both Burlington and Harwinton to not answer any questions over the telephone. What’s next? Will they want my credit card number? My Social Security number? With all the fraud these days, trust no one!

Please tell the solicitor who calls you that you will not answer the questions and politely hang up!
