Barkhamsted Historical Society Flea Market

The Barkhamsted Historical Society sponsors a one-day Huge Flea Market on Saturday, September 7 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Mallory Brook Plaza in the Ames parking lot, just off Route 44 in Winsted. (Rain date is Sunday, September 8.)
Charles Lynes of Pleasant Valley, Event Chairman of the Barkhamsted Historical Society, said this is the organization's sixth season sponsoring the flea markets to benefit their restoration projects. There will be 75 dealer spaces available in the parking lot to the right of Ames, and vendors are welcome to sell and buy. Tailgate selling from cars and vans is permitted. There will be plenty of free parking, and available rest room facilities and food shops. An admission donation of $1 to the Historical Society for adults will be requested; children (under 12) will be admitted free. Early bird buyers are welcome from 8-9 a.m. with a $5 donation for adults.
Over the past five years, some 2,000 visitors have attended the organization’s daily shows in search of antiques, crafts and collectibles, with the opportunity to hunt for bargains. Exhibitors and dealers, both local and statewide, are invited to show and sell items ranging from antique furniture, arts and crafts, toys and doll houses to glassware, antique clothes, books, movie posters, and all kinds of collectible merchandise and memorabilia.
Dealer spaces cost a minimum of $25 and must be reserved in advance; for more info call Charles Lynes at 860-379-7362.
