Thanks for Supporting Tour de Torrington

I would like to thank all the Tour de Torrington sponsors—past, present and future—without whom this event would not be possible.

My extreme gratitude goes to my committee for the countless hours of dedication and support they give of themselves throughout the year to make the day of the Tour so successful. Committee members are Sue Audia, Thomas Condon, Rebecca Conrad, Todd and Patti Colitti, the Garfield family, the Grieco family, Marty Mancuso, Dan McGuinness, Gail Moraski, Matt and Lori Pagano, Joe and Carol Pathe, and Debbie Titus. A special thank you goes to Genevieve McClellan, my co-chair and right hand, for her undying dedication and support.

Although participation was down to 690 riders this year from 800 in 2001, donations exceeded last year’s—with $55,000 donated to the American Cancer Society. The money raised from this event is used to support local programs and services, such as "Reach to Recovery," a one-on-one counseling program for breast cancer survivors, and "Road to Recovery," a program that provides free transportation to and from cancer treatment.
