Covering the Cost of a College Education

Litchfield Community Center offers a presentation on "Covering the Rising Cost of a College Education" on Thursday, September 19 at 7 p.m.; the presentation will be repeated on Thursday, September 26 at 7 p.m. David T. Wilson, a registered investment advisor representative, will provide information about Section 528 tax-free savings plans—state-administered plans designed specifically for your college funding needs. Participants will learn about what 529 savings plans are and how they work; investment risks and limitations of a 529 plan; choosing a plan that meets your needs; determining an appropriate contribution level; and gifting methods that can reduce estate taxes.
