NCDC 57th Annual Dog Show

Northwestern CT Dog Club holds its 57th annual American Kennel Club sanctioned all-breed dog show and obedience trial on Sunday, September 22 at the Goshen Fairgrounds on Route 63 in Goshen. Breed judging will start at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the day, climaxing with Best in Show in the late afternoon. A total of 1,444 dogs are entered at the show; the obedience trial has 99 entries.

Breed and group judges include Sara and Robert Futh, Diane Pilbin, Kenneth McDermott, Lester Mapes, Anthony DiNardo, Daniel Dowling, Karen Wilson, Allan Pepper, and P. Levi Marsman will judge Best in Show.

There will be a specialty show for Irish Setters with 90 breed class entries and 31 sweepstake entries sponsored by the Irish Setter Club of Central CT. The Newfoundland Club of America will also hold a specialty show with 82 breed entries and 27 sweepstake entries. Borzois will have a supported entry by the Borzoi Club of New England, and the Border Terriers will have a supported entry by the Border Terrier Club of America.

Vendors of dog-related materials and food vendors for dogs and people will be present.

Northwestern CT Dog Club will also hold agility trials on Saturday and Sunday, October 26-27 at the Canine Sports Center in Goshen. NCDC holds monthly meetings and the public is welcome to attend.
