Kent Residents Invited to Enjoy Twain Classic By Cynthia F. Johnson, Kent

In mid-September, more than 15 volunteers helped mail Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court to every household in Kent. We all hope you will enjoy this classic and participate in the 30-plus programs our community will sponsor in October and November.

If you did not receive a book, we apologize. Please stop by the library and we will give a copy to you in person so that you may participate in this project—Kent Reads: One Book, One Town. Local newspapers will announce upcoming activities planned in conjunction with our reading project. Mark your calendars for Halloween when we will hold a town-wide medieval parade on Main Street.

Join us by opening your book and entering the world Mark Twain created. Visit the library for updates on community-wide activities. Let us know how you like the book!

The Kent Reads Committee includes Library Director Cynthia F. Johnson, Gini Blackketter, Marie de Lucia, Mary Elling, Julia Samartini, and Virginia Bush Suttman.
