Leon Stetson, Sr. in Duckpin Hall of Fame


On Saturday, October 19, Leon Stetson, Sr. was inducted into the CT Duckpin Hall of Fame. Leon was inducted based on his superior performance in the game of duckpin bowling under the retired bowlers category.

Leon’s tournament wins include the Plainville B, Big B and Laurel Open in 1964; the National Tournament Singles in 1966; the New England Mixed Doubles in 1969; the Benny Stokes "A" in 1970; the Paul Baker Open in 1972; and the Fax Healy Doubles in 1995. He was ranked 10th in the state in 1969-70, and 9th in 1972-73. He was ranked 28th nationally in 1969-70.

A banquet was held in honor of Leon and other duckpin inductees at the Gallery Restaurant in Glastonbury. Leon now joins many other duckpin greats including Fax Healy, Ange DeSanti, Eleanor Desko and Pat Simons, all from Winsted. Congratulations, Leo, for a great history of duckpin bowling.
