This Week on Main Street By Fred Newman and Brigitte Rouleau, Winsted This Week on Main Street Though cold weather is setting in, with towns just to the north of us getting five inches of snow, the Waters Construction crew is still making strides on our Main Street Enhancement Project. Since our last report, they installed all drainage, including catch basins, manholes and pipes. According to Kevin Smith, our project liaison, work on underground electrical conduits for our new street lights began on Friday, October 25. During the week of October 27 through November 1, the crew will finish the curb and start backfilling for the sidewalks, which will be poured the first week of November. All work is still on track, even slightly ahead of schedule. Friends of Main Street continues to bring home baked treats to the crew. Join us in wishing them continued good progress on this project! |
