Ellis Paul at University of Hartford
Ellis Paul, who has been called "the quintessential Boston songwriter: literate, provocative, urbanely romantic" by the Boston Globe, will perform at the University of Hartford on Friday, November 8 as part of the Music for a Change benefit concert series. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Wilde Auditorium in the Harry Jack Gray Center on the University campus, 200 Bloomfield Ave. in West Hartford.
Paul's work is revered by music lovers everywhere, including critics and other performers. Paul has won 12 Boston Music Awards and had his songs included in the Farrelly Brothers' films Me, Myself & Irene and Shallow Hal. (Peter Farrelly calls Paul "a national treasure.") On Paul's newest CD, The Speed of Trees, which was released in mid-September, he sounds like what he is, an artist at the sure summit of his craft.
Tickets are $15, and proceeds will benefit Hartford Inner City Outings; for more info call 860-768-4228, or 800-274-8587.
