Bush Is to Blame

Let’s blame President Bush! It must be his fault that the runaway increase of the U.S. trade deficit in the 1990s is finally starting to lose people jobs and depress the smoke and mirrors stock market. (And it really should get much worse.)

It must be Bush’s fault that nobody was holding Saddam Hussein to account and that he was not forced to live up to the provisions of the edict that was given him by the UN after (I seem to remember) Hussein lost a war.

Since nobody with half a wit (unless blindly politically biased) can really blame Bush for that, let’s blame him for something real. Wildman Bush got up and threatened all sorts of nasty unilateral action and even got some support to back him, and gee—the UN went from sitting on its hands, waiting for the world to change and creating a bunch of methane, to actually doing something meaningful. Yes, Bush is most definitely to blame for that.

Maybe a "time out" would have worked. It’s so much more pleasant to think about flowers.
