Free Bibles for Churches and Ministries

The Connecticut Bible Society is offering free bibles and scripture booklets to churches and ministries in Connecticut. Last year the Society made 44 awards, for a total of 3,120 free bibles. To qualify for these free grants, churches must use the bibles for outreach and evangelism purposes, part of an external bible study or introduction program to the Christian life. Gifts to prospective new church members, homeless shelters and people of different cultures are ideal uses for these grant bibles. Bibles are offered in many languages.

Distribution of free bibles and scripture literature must be accompanied by a program of bible study, allowing people to "embrace the scriptures" through study, sharing, worship and fellowship. The grant application form requires explanation of how the recipient will distribute the free bibles along these guidelines.

Hospitals and prisons do not qualify as recipients of these grants, because the American Bible Society has other funds available for them.

Churches may apply for these grants by filling out a simple form provided by the Bible Society. For more info call 860-249-8629.
