Winsted Equinox Festival Holds Auditions The Winsted Equinox Festival: Where the Old and New Find Balance holds auditions for "MacBeth" by William Shakespeare and original scripts by Northwestern CT Community College professor William Hunt on Sunday, January 19 from 7-9 p.m.; and Monday, January 20 from 7-9 p.m. in the Lee Anne LaClaire Room of Winsted Town Hall, Main St. in Winsted. Performance dates for "MacBeth" are March 27-30; performance dates for the evening of one act plays are April 18-20. Auditionees should come prepared to work improvisationally and to read from the scripts. There are approximately 32 roles available and the plays will be nontraditionally cast as much as possible. Experience is not necessary; productions will be mounted as simply as possible. If you love Shakespeare, if you always wanted to take the risk of performance, you will learn while doing and enjoy a winter in the community of others. The productions are part of a series of theater festivals sponsored by the Town of Winchester, Gilbert School, Shafeek Nader Trust for the Community Interest, Northwestern CT Community College, Winchester Public Schools, and the Winchester Recreation Department to promote a stronger sense of community and shared experience in Winsted. |
