Palestinians Have Brought War on Themselves
In response to Ken Cornet’s recent article [A Jewish Voice for Peace, January 1]: Israel does not use its military to inflict civilian damage. That’s what Palestinian terrorist organizations do. Unfortunately, some Israeli actions have resulted in civilian deaths. This is a war that the Palestinians have brought on themselves. They send their children to be homicide bombers to blow up innocent civilians, school buses, restaurants and shopping malls. What kind of people send their kids to be homicide bombers and use them as human shields? The Israelis only retaliate after they’ve been attacked and only in places where they have determined there are hidden bombs or known terrorists. Red Crescent ambulances have not been shot at, but have been stopped for inspection because they sometimes have been caught hiding bombs. Israeli doctors have tended wounded Palestinians. Television reported one doctor saying, "I am an Israeli Jew and these people are my enemy, but I am a doctor dedicated to saving lives." Where is the Palestinian humanity? They beat up two innocent Jewish boys, threw them out the window and continued to beat them dead. We all saw it on television. Allegations have been made that $300 million was diverted to Mr. Arafat’s private bank account in Switzerland. This money could and should have been used to help his people build their infrastructure. He has betrayed his people. Their propaganda is full of lies as reported by translators. Schoolbooks perpetuate hate against the Jews. It’ll take generations to undo that damage. The Palestinians have violated every agreement they have signed. How can Israelis trust them not to drive them into the sea as they proclaimed they will do? They rejected every opportunity offered them to become a state, by the UN in 1947 and at Camp David in 2000. |
