Goshen Hobby and Crafter's Showcase Do you have a special hobby or craft that you would like to share with others? The Goshen Recreation Commission is planning an Adult Hobby and Crafter's Showcase for Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Kobylenski Lodge at Camp Cochipianee, 291 Beach St. in West Goshen. The organizers are looking for adults interested in displaying individual exhibits. Ten years ago the Commission held a Goshen Senior Showcase, which was very successful. Model cars, airplanes and ships, knitting, crocheting, hand-hooked rugs, oil paintings, watercolors, wood carvings, plants, collections, travel memorabilia, historical items, homemade quilts and handmade pillows were among the items displayed. Some items were for sale while others were strictly for display. This spring the Recreation Commission hopes to expand the scope of the showcase to invite all adults in town who wish to share their skills, collections and interests. It will be a time to socialize, share interests and enjoy light refreshments. Admission will be free. Display space can be reserved by calling Dale Ives at the Recreation Office at 491-2249, or Barbara Hammarstrom at 491-3230. To provide the organizers with a yardstick for measuring public interest and support for this community program, a March 3 deadline has been set for pre-registration. |
