Leaving the Fray

I have just learned that this week's issue of The Voice will be its last. Although I have not written for The Voice in some time, news of the paper's demise still felt like a kick in the stomach.

I discovered the paper within a week of moving to New Hartford in the summer of 2000 and submitted my first piece, "Joining the Fray," immediately. The Voice made the transition to my new home so much sweeter. From our first month here to this very week, Wednesday has been "laundry night" so that I could peruse The Voice hot off the presses while the clothes dried. I cannot imagine northwest Connecticut without it.

The Voice, RIP. You will be missed.
